Spring is here, and Field Day approaches
Spring has arrived, and with it we have had plenty of rain and wild swings in temperature. Looking forward to things settling into some nicer weather! Our May and June Club meetings will mostly be about Field Day preparations.
This is our first Field Day as a Club, so we are planning to make the most out of it. We will have the entire yard at the VFW to setup tents, tables, antennas and stations. We have finally gotten a Club Call Sign (K2KNJ) to use for our contacts. We are planning for off-grid operating whether through solar power and batteries, or via generator.

We are hoping for public interest is seeing what we do. We will take the opportunity to try to entertain, educate, and recruit more people to the great hobby of amateur radio.
All of our members are encouraged to come out and participate. Bring a tent or a hammock. Take a shift behind the grill or help setup the fire pit for after dark. Demonstrate your station to an interested visitor, or just make contacts.
Members of the public are welcome to visit at anytime between noon on Saturday, and 2 PM on Sunday. VFW Post 1302 is located at 300 Belgrove Drive in Kearny, New Jersey.
